Bio

James-Monroe Colón was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area to an Italian mother and Puerto Rican father. Their household was filled with music, art, film, and fitness. Youth sports, like baseball and football, were the center of his universe. Being drafted by the NFL was a childhood dream. It was when his older brother convinced him at the age of 10 to be in his short film, that he considered acting as a potential dream. After sustaining his third football-related knee surgery at the age of 19, he to let go of his NFL dream, hung up his cleats, and decided to pursue acting in Los Angeles. While navigating the industry with limited acting experience, he realized he needed training. Rigorous training and discipline were always the cornerstone of his success in sports, so he returned to the Bay Area and joined The Meisner Technique Studio in San Francisco. He would spend the next few years completely dedicating himself to the craft of acting and completely immersing himself in the Bay Area film and stage community. Since then, he's grown into a consummate pro on set with a solid foundation of craft under his feet. James has returned to Los Angeles and is now working as a full time actor. He's still learning and growing and is appreciative of every opportunity that comes his way.
